Talking with your Student about Substance Abuse

DID YOU KNOW: The Colorado Department of Education awarded funding from The School Health Professional Grant Program (SHPG) to CCSD.  This grant program intends to:

  • Increase the presence of school health professionals in both elementary and secondary schools to provide substance abuse and behavioral health care to students who have substance abuse or other behavioral health needs
  • Implement substance abuse prevention education and provide evidence-based resources to school staff, students, and families
  • Reduce barriers for enrolled students, who are at risk for substance abuse, to access services provided by community-based organizations for treatment and counseling.

DID YOU KNOW: Due to the grant funds provided, CTHS has a Licensed Social Worker and Substance Use Counselor on staff, providing substance use prevention and school-based mental health services related to substance use and other behavioral health needs?
